How to paste Markdown, tables and images into DingTalk

Use md2chat desktop to prepare editable text and images for DingTalk, and understand the different Mac and Windows validation boundaries.

Direct answer

Use md2chat desktop, paste Markdown, check the preview and choose DingTalk copy. Paste into your own draft and inspect the opening text, table image and closing text. DingTalk copying is disabled in the web editor.

Why does a Markdown table lose its layout?

A chat input is not a Markdown renderer. Pipe-delimited table source is not necessarily displayed as a table. md2chat renders the table as PNG while keeping the surrounding text editable.

Mac and Windows use different representations

On Apple Silicon, native DingTalk text/image/text pasting has been tested in a Mac input. Windows now generates a DingTalk node tree with embedded PNG data and HTML/plain-text fallbacks. A user confirmed that rewriting a source sample as HTML retained two images; newly generated content still needs acceptance in the current client.

How to investigate missing images

Record your OS, md2chat version and DingTalk version. Use a fictional sample and the explicit clipboard diagnostic tools. Images inside the Windows DingTalk JSON attribute may not appear in a count of ordinary HTML img tags.

Step by step

  1. Copy Markdown from your source and paste it into md2chat.
  2. Check the text, table image and final paragraph in the preview.
  3. Choose your destination and inspect the result in your own draft.
